Reviews
- Praise for Escape Room Escape Room is both sensory and verbal, with overlapping dialogue and sound effects characterising a woman’s relationship with pain.Karli Evans is our muse, our storyteller, our navigator... Diction is clear, the attitude is fierce and strong....superb and uniquely executed one-hour performance. OLIVIA MOON - SYDNEY THEATRE REVIEWSThis tight, one-hour monologue showcases these three women in history as well as the three women who created the piece. Actor Karli Evans breathes life into all of the characters with warmth and humour. An ideal production for women’s history month. FIONA HALLENAN-BARKER - THEATRE NOW
- Praise for Danny and the Deep Blue Sea Evans is gut-wrenchingly revealing, exposed and uncomfortably honest, her character is broken however lovable... ...[Wade] Doolan matches Evans in strength and passion, both giving startlingly engaging performances. PENNY SPIROU - AUSTRALIAN STAGE...Evans and [Wade] Doolan are individually captivating, and their chemistry is excellent. SUZY GOES SEE
- MotherLode Actor Karli Evans’s retelling of a character’s shocking childhood encounters involving unimaginable abuse, is by far the most poignant of the vignettes that make up the play. Evans delivers the monologue with a sense of psychological accuracy, along with thorough emotional authenticity, causing us to not only witness the pain hidden behind some of our everyday facades, but also to understand the depth of meaning that having children could mean. - SUZY GOES SEETiger Country Brutally uncomprimising tension with honest strong performances from all the cast. - SYDNEY THEATRE GUIDE A Bright Light in the Darkness (TIE):Professional and quality...her devotion, strength and generosity were really brought to life by the play...The children laughed, were moved and intrigued. - HOLY ROSARY PRIMARY
- Praise for This Is My Box It’s a seamlessly choreographed hour about social pressures, delivered with pin-sharp timing and vocal dexterity, particularly during a protracted tongue-twister sketch – about Christmas hampers – which deserves a standing ovation. But as well as being technically impressive, these supremely talented girls are crease-up funny. THE SCOTSMAN - (4 Stars)...These performers nonetheless delve firmly outside the box when finding perceptive ways to present and satirise these characters. Glowingly expressive and zinging with attitude, this is a worthy watch for those who want funny feminism or just plain fun. -THREE WEEKS (4 Stars)...The pair are very reminiscent of the British duo Sue and Mel during their early years at the Fringe, making use of the same style and feel of observational comedy. The touch at the end of giving every audience member their own box really ensures that the show will leave a lasting imprint in the mind.- BROADWAY BABY
- Praise for Evie the Christmas Elf ...The show was wonderful and Karli was amazing! The children had the best time and Karli was so kind and caring to each one of them - she has the skill of listening to the children's comments but also keeping the show moving. - ALBERT HALL PRESCHOOL...Evie the Elf was great and so engaging and entertaining! ... The children absolutely loved her.- MI KIDS WARRIEWOOD ...The shows were amaxing. The children loved them... the educators were fascinated by Karli's talent... We were really impressed. - KINDA MINDI
